Covid-19 and My Optometrist
WE ARE COMMITTED TO A SAFE EYE CARE EXPERIENCE!
At My Optometrist, we are implementing safety measures outlined by the government and the South African Optometric Association, to keep you and our staff safe during the Covid-19 global pandemic. When booking your appointment, please ask yourself the following questions.
- Are you currently or have you in the past 21 days suffered from any of the following symptoms: Fever, Cough, Extreme Fatigue, Sore Throat, Shortness of breath, Loss of taste and/or smell?
- Have you had contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have a high risk of Covid-19 in the last 14 days?
If your answer is No, we are happy to see you!
Please remember to wear your mask.
Sanitizing process
At the main entrance of the EXP Medical Centre, your temperature will be measured and your hands will be sanitized.
When you enter My Optometrist, your hands will be sanitized again. A daily record of the date, your name, ID and telephone number will be kept of every customer entering My Optometrist.
We will welcome you with a friendly smile and a wave, and rather leave the handshake for the next visit. We ask our patients to come for their consultation alone, unless accompanying a child for their own eye exam.
If any other customers are in the practice, please keep a 1,5m social distance.
Before every test we do, all equipment will be cleaned and disinfected with either soap and water or the appropriate cleaning disinfectants. Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. After trying on frames, the touched frames will be separated and cleaned with a suitable disinfectant.
We have protective shields during the examination, to prevent any risk of respiratory droplet transmission.
We value our customers and would like to see everyone again, and the same applies to us. So, if you don’t feel well before your appointment, please rather let us know and we will gladly reschedule your appointment when you are fit and healthy again.
